They say styles comes back a round after a certain period.
This project is evidence of that design which dominated the late 50’s of every Singaporean home.
Bringing it back to the 21st century, is like travelling back into a time where one can re-live memories of
the generation before.
The designer input massive research into tracing back the roots of the original materials used & also the set up to fully bring back this trend into reality with a touch of modern design idea.
Raw cement blocks were used to create a table structure as a breakfast counter. This is a reflection of the 50’s lifestyle, whereby the people
of that time made do with what they have to be used as furnitures.
Moving on to a modern input, the Lorong Ah Soo home manages to incorporate both a bathtub and a shower area in one Bathroom.
This is designed well by creating a drop to the floor at the bathing area & also using a frameless glass sliding screen to close up the area used for bathing.
